After the Royal Liverpool University Hospital was identified as the best option for a new cancer centre, we published outline proposals. Then we invited people across Merseyside and Cheshire were invited to have their say on them in an extensive public engagement programme from August 2012 to March 2013.

We asked people ‘Having heard about proposals, do you think they are a good idea?’ Overall there was very widespread support for the proposals, with almost 83% of people who replied saying yes, they were a good idea. In total, we reached around 90,000 people at roadshows, meetings and events and 4,164 of them answered the engagement question above.
